Builders Club
Builders Club is a
student-led, service organization sponsored by the Beaver Dam Noon
Kiwanis and the Beaver Dam A.M. Kiwanis Clubs. Currently, the St.
Katharine Drexel School Builders Club has 48 members from grades 6-8.
This group plans and participates in service projects for SKDS and for
the Beaver Dam community.
Within St.
Katharine Drexel School, Builders Club has planned a number of projects
for 2006-2007. Earlier this year, they assisted with band risers for
Mr. DiPietro and helped staff the Family Carnival. They plan to host a
talent show and to organize a penny war for charity during Catholic
School's Week.
The Builders Club
is also busy providing service to the community. The group held a food
drive to help the Team Leadership Committee at Beaver Dam High School
prepare baskets for needy families in the area. They also created
a "living nativity scene" float for the Beaver Dam Christmas Parade.
During
Advent, they plan to collect gently used books and send them to
Mississippi for classroom use. Last year, they collected items for
Clothes 4 Kids. At Easter time, they help assemble Easter baskets for
Clothes 4 Kids and help to fill plastic eggs for the YMCA Easter egg
hunt.
