Vision, Mission, Philosophy Vision
St. Katharine Drexel School, in partnership with St. Katharine Drexel Parish,
will nurture faith and provide quality education to the youth in the Beaver Dam
area. We remain inspired by the Holy Spirit to reach out lovingly to others
through example, service, and prayer. In this manner, we will continue building
God’s kingdom.
Mission Statement and Philosophy
Saint Katharine Drexel School, as an extension of St. Katharine Drexel Parish,
is a child-centered, caring community. SKDS is dedicated to educating the whole
child in the Catholic Christian tradition, offering a Christian message and a
faith-filled environment to its school family through worship and service.
The St. Katharine Drexel School Family, with parents as the primary teachers,
shares the joint responsibility of serving our school and others as well as
building faith, knowledge and a cooperative spirit. All students, teachers,
staff, parents and administration are vital to the educational program.
At the St. Katharine Drexel School we teach the whole child:
- Spiritually: encouraging him/her to develop a personal and communal
relationship with God.
- Emotionally: fostering a loving and secure environment.
- Intellectually: challenging him/her to work thoroughly in all the
disciplines.
- Physically: providing him/her with outlets that encourage a healthy
and rewarding lifestyle.
- Socially: promoting cooperation with and acceptance of others.
- Environmentally: accepting responsibility to care for the world God
has provided for us.
- Culturally: educating toward an understanding of and an
appreciation for the global community, the myriad of cultures within it and
one’s personal relationship to our world.
Finally, we encourage a sense of pride in
oneself, leading to pride in St. Katharine Drexel School which plays an integral
part in the Beaver Dam Community.
