Mrs. Jenkins
Mrs. Loreli Jenkins is the kindergarten through
eighth grade art teacher at SKDS, she also has an eighth grade homeroom
and teaches the eighth grade religion class. Mrs. Jenkins graduated from
UW–Stevens Point and started teaching at SKDS in the fall of 1992. She
loves it so much here that she has not taught anywhere else.
“The students enjoy art and each day is different and fun,” said Mrs.
Jenkins. “I have a passion for working with children of all ages and it
is an honor to come to SKDS each day and enjoy the students. Few careers
allow you to openly express your faith, and I have been blessed to find
one that encourages just that! We truly are a family here and I wouldn’t
want to be anywhere else.”
Originally from Rio, Wis., Mrs. Jenkins now lives outside of Randolph
with her husband, Matthew, and their son, Layne, who attends SKDS.
When she’s not at school, Mrs. Jenkins loves to be outside. Her family
enjoys going for deer rides early in the morning, and hunting and
fishing. Her country home is her sanctuary. Playing outside with Layne,
working in the garden or just sitting on the porch watching the sunset
is when Mrs. Jenkins is most content. Outdoor photography is quickly
becoming a new hobby. She said that nothing feels more peaceful than
waiting to capture a good photograph of the Wisconsin wildlife.
When asked why she became a teacher, Mrs. Jenkins replied, “I always
loved school and art. I was influenced by several of my teachers from my
high school days, they were wonderful role models.”
Her words of advice for students: “I have two
pieces of advice for my students - Always stand up for what you believe
is right! Also, anything worth doing is worth doing well!”
Favorite quotation from Mrs. Jenkins - "Make it a Priority: FAITH,
FAMILY, FRIENDS."
