Mrs. Mersch
Mrs. Mary Mersch
has been with St. Katharine Drexel School for 28 years. She teaches
reading, math, science, religion, and language arts to third grade
students.
Prior to her service at SKDS, Mrs. Mersch taught at Holy Rosary in
Kenosha and at St. Andrews in Delavan. In her adolescent years as a
baby-sitter, she discovered she enjoyed children because they always
wanted to be with her. This experience in working with children gave her
the desire to become a teacher.
Mrs. Mersch says the best part of her job is seeing a child grasp a
skill that s/he has been working on in class. She also enjoys helping to
mold a child into an adult.
Words of advice from Mrs. Mersch: “Keep trying and never give up, no
matter how hard something is.”
Mrs. Mersch has been happily married to her husband Charlie for 35
years. She and Charlie have two married daughters, Laurie and Chris.
They also have 1 grandson, Tegan, 5 months old. In her spare time, she
enjoys camping, playing cards, rubber stamping and baking.
