Miss Meyer

Miss Megan Meyer joined the SKDS staff in 2011.
Prior to coming to SKDS, Miss Meyer taught 4K at St. Catherine School in
Milwaukee for one year. Currently she teaches first grade.
Megan attended St. Norbert College and graduated with an Elementary
Education major with Early Childhood Education and Spanish teaching
minors.
Miss Meyer is originally from Fond du Lac, WI.
She loves spending time with her family; especially her niece and
nephew. "They grow up so fast," says Miss Meyer. Her hobbies
include reading, shopping, music, and movies. She's a big movie
buff.
When asked why she became a teacher, Miss Meyer
replied, "As a kid, I constantly played school with my cousins and I
always loved spending time with kids. I think teaching was
something I wanted to do, but never fully realized it until I began
helping teach computer classes through a volunteer program in high
school. It was a truly rewarding experience."
Megan says her favorite thing about her job is she
loves watching the progress as students learn to read, write stories,
and become problem solvers.
Her words of advice for students are: "The word
'can't' should not be in your vocabulary. If you put your mind to
it, anything is possible.
Her favorite quotations are: "The art of teaching
is the art of assisting discovery." -Mark van Doren
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the
moments that take our breath away." - Maya Angelou
