Mrs. Richard

Mrs. Kate RichardMrs. Kate Richard is our Extend-A-Day Coordinator here at SKDS, where she has been working for 8 years. Extend-A-Day is an extension of the Kindergarten program. Mrs. Richard plans reinforcement and challenging activities to build upon the learning that takes place in Kindergarten. Children may choose to participate in the Extend-A-Day program up to 5 days each week.

Mrs. Richard was happy to have the Extend-A-Day position open up at just the right time. When her youngest daughter went to Kindergarten, the position became available. Mrs. Richard said the job “fit right into her schedule” and she has been enjoying working with Extend-A-Day ever since. What is Mrs. Richard’s favorite thing about her job? She shares, “SKDS has a great environment to work in. The students, staff and faculty are great to work with.”

Mrs. Richard grew up near Iron Ridge and went to High School in Horicon. Currently, she lives in Beaver Dam with her family. Her husband Randy works at John Deere. She enjoys spending time with Randy and her three daughters, KristyLee (22), Tiffany (16) and Paige (13). In her free time, Mrs. Richard likes to watch Tiffany and Paige’s club volleyball games. She enjoys planning vacations and improving her house and yard. One of her all-time favorite things to do is shopping with her girls.

Mrs. Richard’s advice for students: “Never be afraid to ask a question.”

Her favorite quotation: “The only way to learn to love is to love.”
