Mrs. Scott
Mrs.
Margaret Scott has been at St. Katharine Drexel School since 1993. She
teaches sixth-eighth grade. Mrs. Scott is also the faculty advisor of the
SKDS Builders Club and the Administrative Assistant for the Elementary
Level.
Why did Mrs. Scott become a teacher? She stated, “Because I enjoy being
with young people and I love learning. Watching and helping young people
learn is the greatest.” Her favorite thing about her job is “The
wonderful people, students, families and fellow staff members” with whom
she works.
Prior to her years at St. Katharine Drexel School, Mrs. Scott taught for
six years at Consolidated Catholic Lomira-Theresa. She grew up in Fox Lake, Wis., where
she was the youngest of seven children (including five sisters and one
brother).
Outside of school, Mrs. Scott enjoys doing volunteer service work for
her parish and for Kiwanis. She is the District Administrator for the
K-Kids Wisconsin Upper Michigan District. Mrs. Scott enjoys traveling
and went to Australia for World Youth Day in the summer of
2008, and is looking forward to World Youth Day in Spain in 2011. She helps facilitate the Wisconsin Leadership Seminar
each summer and enjoys chaperoning for Youth Works.
In her free time, Mrs. Scott likes walking, doing crafts and playing
with her dog. She watches her daughters play sports (volleyball,
basketball, and softball), and perform in the band. She
also admits that she sometimes watches way too much TV.
Mrs. Scott’s words of advice for students: “Try many good things and
figure out what you really enjoy doing. Then figure out a way to get
others to pay you to do it.”
Her favorite quotation: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful
committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing
that ever has.” Margaret Mead
