Mrs. Yundt
Mrs.
Margaret Yundt has been at St. Katharine Drexel School since 1993. She
teaches 7th grade religion and social studies, 6th grade social studies
and 8th grade algebra. Mrs. Yundt is also the faculty advisor of the
SKDS Builders Club and the Administrative Assistant for the Elementary
Campus.
Why did Mrs.Yundt become a teacher? She states, “Because I enjoy being
with young people and I love learning. Watching and helping young people
learn is the greatest.” Her favorite thing about her job is “The
wonderful people, students, families and fellow staff members” with whom
she works.
Prior to her years at St. Katharine Drexel School, Mrs. Yundt taught for
six years at CCLT in Lomira. She grew up in Fox Lake, Wisconsin, where
she was the youngest of 7 children (including five sisters and one
brother).
Mrs. Yundt is widowed and has “two beautiful, intelligent and talented
daughters.” Mrs. Yundt says, “Both [daughters] graduated from our school
and I want to thank everyone who helped them become the wonderful young
ladies that they are.” She has a dog, Princess and a cat, Belle. Mrs.
Yundt has also informally adopted a 19 year-old “intelligent, handsome
young man, Eric” who is currently living with her family.
Outside of school, Mrs. Yundt enjoys doing volunteer service work for
her parish and for Kiwanis. She is the District Administrator for the
Builders Club Wisconsin Upper Michigan District. Mrs. Yundt enjoys
traveling and is scheduled to go to Australia for World Youth Day in the
summer of 2008. She helps facilitate the Wisconsin Leadership Seminar
each summer and enjoys chaperoning for Youth Works.
In her free time, Mrs. Yundt likes walking, doing crafts and playing
with her dog. She watches her daughters play sports (volleyball,
basketball, and softball), perform in the band, and act on-stage. She
also admits that she sometimes watches way too much TV.
Mrs. Yundt’s words of advice for students: “Try many good things and
figure out what you really enjoy doing. Then figure out a way to get
others to pay you to do it.”
Her favorite quotation: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful
committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing
that ever has.” Margaret Mead
