Welcome to Third Grade!
For the past two months we have focused on Force and Motion. The students have learned to identify forces acting on an object and how these forces can affect the objects motion. They also learned that we can predict future motion of an object when we observe patterns of motion. They concluded this unit with the Quest: Pinball Wizard, where students created their own pinball machine using the information they have learned about force and motion.
During the month of October and leading up to All Saint's Day on November 1st, the third graders learn about a particular saint and write a paragraph and riddle about their life. Below is a link to the letter explaining the project and a list of items you can use to help your child look like their saint for the presentation on November 1st at 2:30 pm.
Litany of Saints performed at Mass
Students focused on the components of reading with fluency the last week in December. They performed a Reader's Theater of "A Christmas Carol" for 5K through second grade classes. The students worked very hard practicing their parts using good phrasing, punctuation, accuracy and expression. Enjoy the two performances by the third graders.
