Bachelor's in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with Spanish Minor, Marian University
Pursuing Master's in Catholic Studies, University of St. Thomas

My name is Ms. (Madeline) VerHage and I am the 2nd grade teacher here at SKDS. I started teaching at St. Katharine Drexel in fall 2018. As an SKDS graduate, I am very blessed to be teaching here and having the opportunity to work with a supportive team of teachers and families. My favorite part of my job is preparing the students for First Reconciliation and First Communion. The greatest gift of all is being able to practice my faith and my passion of teaching at the same time!

I graduated from Marian University with an Early Childhood/Elementary degree in December 2017. I am currently a student at St. Thomas University in Minnesota pursuing a Master’s Degree in Catholic Studies. I have a few years left of the program, but my end goal is to either teach Theology at a high school/college or work at a parish.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, spending time with friends and family, and watching Wisconsin sports.

One of my favorite quotes is: How cool is it that the same God who created mountains, oceans, and galaxies, looked at you and thought the world needed one of you too?
